What to Expect

Sprinkler Master goes through a 5 step checklist to winterize your lawn irrigation system:

  1. Shut off your main line or the stop-and-waste valve.
  2. Connect our commercial air compressor to blow out each zone of the sprinkler system to ensure that each zone on the sprinkler system is adequately drained to prevent damage.
  3. Set the sprinkler timer accordingly for winter use.
  4. If necessary, we will open the bleeder valves.
  5. Shut down the back flow by turning the ports to open and putting the ball valves to 45° degrees.

Questions You Might Have

Do I need to winterize my sprinkler system?

Yes, sprinkler systems should be winterized before the temperature begins to reach freezing. Failing to winterize the system makes it susceptible to damage, which can crack valves, pipes, or backflow preventers. This damage necessitates repairs before you can turn the sprinkler system on in the spring.

What if I am unsure of the number of zones that I have?

No problem! When we check your controller, we can tell right away how many zones you have.
